EFCC officials interrogated Federal High Court Chief Judge Tsoho for hours on Tuesday. The grilling centered on a large cash sum allegedly found in his wife’s possession.
An EFCC source told wahalaupdate the questioning stemmed from intercepting the judge’s wife.

Operatives stopped her during a trip, uncovering the suspicious cash haul.
“EFCC interrogated the Chief Judge, Tsoho, for hours on Tuesday over his wife’s cash haul,” the source said.
Reports indicate EFCC interrogated Judge Tsoho after intercepting his wife en route to Benue State.
This follows an earlier incident where operatives seized the large cash amount from her.

Sources familiar with the matter said she was subsequently returned to Abuja, where officials allegedly discovered $160,000 in cash in her possession at the point of interception.
However, the circumstances surrounding the funds and the purpose of the trip have not yet been officially clarified.
Meanwhile, Justice Tsoho is expected to appear before the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) on March 16, 2026, over allegations relating to asset declaration.

Under Nigerian law, public officials are required to declare all assets, liabilities and bank accounts, including domiciliary accounts.
If the bureau establishes a prima facie case, charges could be initiated against the judge.
A conviction may attract penalties including up to 10 years imprisonment and a 10-year ban from holding public office.

Justice Tsoho will appear with his lawyer, Kanu Agabi, who remains abroad for medical treatment.

The statement confirms the legal representative’s absence due to health reasons during proceedings.
“The Honourable Chief Judge remains fully committed to cooperating with the Code of Conduct Bureau in respect of its invitation,” the statement read.
The court states Agabi expressed willingness to join Chief Judge Tsoho at the EFCC bureau.
He plans to accompany him immediately upon returning to Nigeria from medical leave abroad.
