Di drivers name na Haruna Muhammad and Adamu Ibrahim, and their truck full with gari before dem attack am for June 7.
According to Dahiru Musa, wey be chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) for Okigwe, him talk say suspected members of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) block di road.
Dem come dey open fire on di drivers, kill dem, then come still burn di truck and their bodies for fire.
Mr. Musa talk say dem don report di mata to security agents, including di Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Okigwe, and soldiers don visit the scene.
Di bodies of di drivers were carry go hospital and later dem do funeral prayers and bury dem for Monday.
Mahmud Jafaru, di spokesperson for NURTW Heavy Truck, Laranto Motor Park, Jos, talk say di truck dey go Port Harcourt when di attack come take happen.
He lament say drivers from di North dey killed anyhow for South East, and government plus security forces no dey do anything to protect dem.
Jafaru call on government to take serious action because many drivers and trucks don lost already.
Dis incident na part of many violent attacks wey dey happen for South East Naija.
Especially Imo State, where security don dey very bad di point where di attacks take dey continue by suspected IPOB members and other armed groups.
Di police for Imo State no dey answer any calls about dis particular attack.
Earlier dis year, inside March 2, 2025, truck drivers and owners protest for Jos, Plateau State, dey complain about di killing of their members by suspected IPOB terrorists as well.
Di violence dey cause fear and insecurity for road transport workers, especially those wey dey travel from North to South East.
Di attack dey raise serious controversy because:
• Di killers, dey suspect IPOB members, dem dey target Northern drivers, making dem feel like dem no be human beings.
• Pipo dey accuse Government and security agencies say dem no dey do anything to take stop di killings and protect innocent citizens.
• Di violence dey worsen di already tense relationship between different ethnic groups for Naija.
• Di burning of trucks and killing of drivers dey cause beta economic loss and fear for transport business.
• Di silence or lack of response from di police and government officials dey make pipo question their commitment to security.
Dis tragic event dey show say di security situation for South East, especially Imo State, don reach serious mata.
Di government need to wake up from their sleep and investigate di attack.
Arrest di evil pipo wey dey do dia Kain thing, and provide protection for all di road users by all means.
If not, more lives and properties go continue to dey lost, and di country fit dey go into more ethnic and regional violence.
