Many Austrians already familiar with Igbo culture its cuisine, clothing, dance, arts, and music are eagerly anticipating the carnival.
They look forward to experiencing the stunning masquerades, watching the striking Igbo men performing the “Ohafia war dance,” expertly wobbling their strong chests in a traditional display of strength and grace.
Likewise, the elegant Igbo women will captivate onlookers as they sway their waists beautifully to the vibrant beats of native sounds.

Chief Anthony Egwuibe, Chairman of the Igbo Cultural Society (ICS), will officially present the kola nut, welcoming attendees in the traditional way.
This will be followed by a libation ceremony performed by a recognized Igbo titleholder, invoking ancestral blessings.
The keynote address will be delivered by Mr. Muyiwa Onifade, Charge d’Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy and Permanent Mission in Vienna.
The day’s events will commence at 2 PM outside the Nigerian Embassy (Rennweg 25, 1030 Vienna).
