Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has launched a scathing attack on social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.
In a viral Instagram video on Sunday, the actress dismissed his claims as manipulative and dishonest, urging Nigerians to stop taking him seriously.
VeryDarkMan had alleged that Iyabo Ojo backed out of an agreement to publicly apologise to Nigerian singer Naira Marley and his associate Sam Larry.
The supposed agreement was said to have been reached during a roundtable at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NCCC), which included Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Tonto Dikeh, and their legal teams.
However, Iyabo Ojo vehemently refuted these claims.
She accused VeryDarkMan of cunning deception and manipulative tactics, stating, “I am a very wise woman.
I know when to fight, when to listen and when to speak, unlike you who speak from both sides of the mouth.”
The Crux of the Conflict: Mohbad’s Death and Social Media Drama
The dispute centers on the controversial death of Nigerian singer Mohbad, which sparked widespread outrage and social media battles.
Iyabo Ojo has been vocal with her criticism of Naira Marley and Sam Larry, whom she accuses of involvement in bullying and mocking Mohbad before his death.
“I’ve never met Naira Marley; I only promoted his music on my platform,” Iyabo said.
She recounted seeing a video of Naira Marley dancing shortly after Mohbad’s death, which angered her deeply.
Ojo also cited disturbing footage of Sam Larry allegedly harassing Zlatan Ibile and Mohbad.
These videos convinced her to speak out. “As a concerned citizen and mother, I used my platform,” she explained.
Iyabo Ojo’s Alleged NCCC Petition and VeryDarkMan’s Motives
Iyabo Ojo revealed she was invited by the NCCC in connection with the ongoing investigations but was en route to Tanzania for a wedding when she saw the invitation letter.
She believes VeryDarkMan’s recent video was timed to counter her petition to the NCCC.
“I’m sure the NCCC called to tell you that I’ve petitioned them, so you had to come out and do your normal manipulative tactics,” she accused him.
VeryDarkMan’s Controversial Reputation and Legal Troubles
VeryDarkMan’s role in Nigerian social media is contentious.
Known for his hard-hitting exposes and scandals involving celebrities, he has faced several legal actions, including arraignment on charges of cyberbullying actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh.
Despite the accusations against him, VeryDarkMan continues to wield significant influence online, often stirring controversy with leaked private chats and incendiary videos.
The Fallout: Divide Among Fans and Celebrities
The dispute has not only pitted two vocal public figures against each other but also divided fans and the entertainment community.
Iyabo Ojo’s supporters praise her courage and determination to seek justice for Mohbad, while others criticize her for escalating tensions.
VeryDarkMan’s followers applaud his boldness in holding celebrities accountable, viewing him as a necessary watchdog in Nigeria’s celebrity culture.
Social Media’s Role in the Mohbad Saga
Social media has amplified every allegation and counter-allegation in the Mohbad saga.
Videos, chat leaks, and public spats have played out for millions of Nigerians to witness in real time.
Her emphasis on morality and concern as a mother provokes sympathy, yet his relentless exposés underline the darker realities of celebrity feuds.
Wahalaupdate Analysis: Power, Influence, and Controversy
we recognize this story as emblematic of Nigeria’s celebrity culture, where conflict and controversy often overshadow accountability and truth.
Iyabo Ojo, a respected actress, has stepped into the battle with the poise of a seasoned player.
Her rejection of VeryDarkMan’s antics marks not just personal defiance but a challenge to social media vigilantes narratives.
Yet, her critics argue that her public airing of grievances only fuels the cycle of social media drama.
VeryDarkMan’s persistence in leaking private information has raised questions about ethics and legality, even as it calls out hypocrisy and injustice.
In this clash of personalities, the lines between victim and aggressor blur.
Both wield power within their spheres but the question remains, is this battle advancing justice for Mohbad, or is it simply spectacle for the digital age?
