The Management of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, led by Dr Samuel Ogbuku, has constituted a Project Verification and Payment Committee.

This followed one of the resolutions reached at the 9th meeting of the 7th Governing Board of the Commission held on December 8, 2025.

Board Approves Verification Committee for Key NDDC Projects

The Board greenlit Management’s Project Verification Committee to scrutinize infrastructure, electrification, desilting, environmental, and water initiatives across regions.

This ensures accurate data capture on the Commission’s digitized Finance platform, streamlining approvals and payments for verified developments.

Federal Government mandated all MDAs to digitize operations and go paperless by December 31, 2025, prompting the Project Verification Committee’s swift formation.

This aligns with national efficiency drive, curbing delays, enhancing transparency, and modernizing project tracking across infrastructure sectors.

NDDC Accelerates Project Verification for Seamless E-Payments

Dr. Ogbuku, NDDC Management urgently verifies all completed projects.

Extracting vital data for the Finance Directorate’s electronic database to enable seamless payments.

This comprehensive audit complies with federal digitization mandates, boosts accuracy, cuts fraud risks, and accelerates fund disbursements post-2025 paperless deadline.

The Project Verification and Payment Committee launches comprehensive audits of all completed regional projects from inception through January 2023.

Teams capture precise details into Finance Directorate’s digitized database, enabling secure e-payments and federal compliance by streamlining post-verification disbursements.

NDDC Verifies Infrastructure, Power, Environment, Desilting, Water Projects

The projects to be verified include infrastructural, electrification, environmental, desilting, and water supply projects.

The Project Verification Committee boasts strong leadership: Alabo Boma Iyaye, Executive Director of Finance and Administration, chairs with expertise in fiscal oversight.

Sir Victor Antai, Executive Director of Projects, joins as key member, bringing hands-on implementation knowledge to ensure thorough project evaluations.

Mr. Victor Arenyeka (Legal Director) acts as Secretary for compliance; Gbenga Omowanle (Project Monitoring) brings supervision expertise as member.

Mrs. Kunemefa Asu (Finance Director) and Mr. Lucky Ogbuji (Internal Audit) finalize the committee, ensuring financial integrity and rigorous audits.
