The Police Service Commission (PSC) has fixed Monday, March 9, 2026, for the commencement of the physical and credential screening of successful applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
The exercise, which is scheduled to run until April 18, 2026, will take place simultaneously across all states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
PSC Spokesman Directs Candidates to Check Portal Status
In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja, the PSC spokesman, Torty Njoku Kalu, directed all candidates who successfully completed the online registration phase.
They must now log on immediately.
He urged them to access the official recruitment portal at NPFapplication.psc.gov.ng without delay.
This step allows candidates to verify their application status swiftly and accurately online.
Once verified, eligible candidates should promptly print their invitation slips from the portal.
This prepares them for the next recruitment phase, ensuring no one misses critical deadlines ahead.
Candidates are expected to download and present five key documents at the screening centres.
Candidates Must Bring Guarantors, Slips, Forms
The Guarantors Form, Application Submission Slip, Invitation Slip, Credentials Screening Form, and the Physical Screening Form.
Applicants must arrive with original copies of all required credentials to the recruitment center.
This ensures smooth verification during the screening process without any hitches or delays.
Bring NIN, O’Level Certificates for Verification
Include their National Identification Number (NIN) printout or card issued by NIMC. Also bring O’ Level certificates like GCE or SSCE, essential for academic qualification checks.
Present Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age, plus Local Government or State of Origin Certificate.
These documents confirm identity, age, and indigeneity for full eligibility compliance.
Specialist applicants, also present your Trade Test or professional certificates.
PSC emphasizes that you must duly complete and sign the Guarantors Form. Attach photocopies and passport photographs of the referees.
The Commission has also prescribed a uniform dress code for the screening day.
Applicants Must Wear White Attire, Canvas Shoes
All applicants are to appear at their designated venues wearing white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts, and white stockings.
Candidates, report to the specific locations within your states or the FCT as indicated on your individual invitation slips.
PSC Chairman Reassures Free Recruitment Process
He warned applicants to be wary of fraudsters seeking to exploit the recruitment process ruthlessly.
Stay vigilant against scams that promise shortcuts or guaranteed selection unfairly.
These criminals often demand payments or pose as official agents of the Police Service Commission.
Never engage with unsolicited contacts claiming insider influence or special favors.
Anyone caught demanding money or impersonating Commission officials will face immediate arrest.
Swift Prosecution to Deter Recruitment Fraud
Prosecution will follow swiftly to deter fraud and protect the integrity of recruitment.
“The exercise will be conducted in the best tradition of transparency and accountability,” Argungu said.
He urged all applicants to rely solely on the official portal and verified PSC announcements for information regarding the recruitment.
The screening exercise marks the next major step in the federal government’s plan to bolster the nation’s police force.
