Political analyst Mathias Tsado don blow hot for Naija corruption mata, especially di one wey concern Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

For one TVC News talk wey e do, Tsado come dey ask serious questions about how EFCC dey handle di N108 billion corruption case wey dey involve Akpabio.

Tsado talk say, “di case wey EFCC get against di Senate President about N108 billion, e don close or Abi Wetin happen?”

Dis question don make plenty pipo begin dey talk for di country.

Especially because e dey look like say when big men reach top government positions.

Their corruption cases just dey disappear like magic.

Tsado yan say, if you be small politician like senator or former minister, EFCC go dey investigate you.

But once you become Senate President or near di presidency, di case go just dey silent.

E talk say Naija deserve to know if di case don finish or if dem just bury am.

Dis kain silence dey make pipo lose trust for Naija anti-corruption fight.

Di case against Akpabio na about how e allegedly mismanage billions of naira during e time as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and before as Akwa Ibom governor.

EFCC don receive petitions and even investigate.

But since Akpabio become Senate President in 2023, no clear update dey.

Tsado talk say dis kind selective justice no good for Naija democracy.

E talk say if case true, make dem prosecute am.

If e don finish, make dem show proof so everybody go see.

But EFCC no talk anything about Tsado statement yet.

Pipo wey dey civil society don also join body dey ask EFCC to clear di mata publicly or continue investigation openly.

Di whole mata don cause serious wahala because many Naija dey vex say rich and powerful pipo dey get special treatment.

Tsado’s question dey make pipo demand say justice suppose dey equal for everybody, no mata how powerful you be.

Background gist show say EFCC don invite Akpabio plenty times for questioning about dis corruption case.

For 2023, EFCC invite am again, but e lawyer talk say Akpabio sick and no fit come.

Later, EFCC ask am come for interrogation on May 9, 2023, but no public info about di outcome.

Before dis, Akpabio don face serious allegations of stealing N108 billion from Akwa Ibom state funds when e be governor.

EFCC even arrest am in 2015 for investigation.

But afta interrogation, e come talk say na young lawyer dey accuse am and e no arrest am.

EFCC just ask questions and e answer.

Some pipo believe say EFCC dey selective, dey go afta small fish but dey protect big fish like Akpabio because of their political power.

Others talk say maybe EFCC no get enough evidence to prosecute or dem dey do political protection.

Dis case dey raise bigger questions about how Nigeria dey fight corruption, especially for top government officials.

Many Naija dey wonder if corruption fight na real or na just show for small pipo while big pipo dey enjoy impunity.

Dis silence and lack of transparency from EFCC on this mata dey make pipo lose hope for justice.

So, as of June 10, 2025, the controversy still dey hot.

Naija dey wait make EFCC talk true, either to confirm say case don close or to continue investigation openly.

Di whole mata dey expose how corruption and politics dey mix for Naija and how justice no dey equal for all
