In a significant endorsement of its corporate ethos and community impact, Sterling Global Oil was celebrated with dual honours by the Petroleum Products Retailers Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN), Akwa Ibom State Chapter.

The company received the prestigious Pillar of Industry award at the association’s annual recognition ceremony held last weekend.

The award which was presented by DSP Timfon John, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, who served as the event’s Special Guest of Honour, was received by Dr. Sam Osung, Sterling Global’s Director of Protocol on behalf of the company.

The award specifically acknowledges Sterling Global’s substantial contributions to the economic fabric of the state, particularly through its support of the petroleum retail sector.

The PETROAN leadership highlighted the company’s role in fostering a more robust and collaborative business environment.

They praised Sterling Global for its unwavering professionalism, operational transparency, and dedicated efforts to strengthen the entire downstream oil and gas value chain within the state.

Adding to the company’s accolade, Dr.  Osung was individually honoured with an Award of Recognition in Dispute Management. This award commends his exceptional skill in mediating complex issues, employing calm diplomacy to effectively resolve sensitive matters involving a wide range of stakeholders, including regulators, community representatives, and industry operators.

Speaking at the event, key PETROAN executives also noted that the company’s consistent partnership and support have been instrumental in creating a safer, more efficient, and mutually beneficial operating landscape for all retailers in Akwa Ibom State. They described Sterling Global as a true partner in progress, whose actions directly contribute to the sector’s stability and growth.

In his response to the dual honours, Dr. Sam Osung expressed profound gratitude to PETROAN for the recognition. “These awards are not just for Sterling Global and myself, but a testament to the power of positive collaboration. They reinforce our fundamental commitment to building enduring partnerships, supporting local capacity development, and upholding the highest standards of service and integrity in all our operations,” he stated.
