Let us say the plain truth and settle this matter. The man called Ekong Ituen is not a prophet. Scrape off the veil of prophecy, and what you will find is just a consistent political analyst.
Put it simply: he is a political weatherman, or political meteorologist.

Having been his “friend” on the social media space for close to 13 years, I dare liken his “prophecies” to someone standing on the shore, watching the tide gather, and then screaming “I prophesy a great splash” just before the first wave hits the bank.

Prophet Packages Fears as Divine Echoes

He observes, wraps his observations in an esoteric package, and presents it to a populace so addicted to unending political wranglings that they mistake the echo of their own fears for the voice of God.

He is a genius in cynicism.

And also provides a spiritual cover for political permutations.

When a regular analyst says “XYZ Party will face a crisis,” he is ignored, but when an Ekong Ituen says “I see a political disaster awaiting XYZ Party…,” it becomes believable.

Take his latest “prophecy” as proof. On the heels of the defection of Emmanuel Enoidem SAN to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ituen has warned that the legal luminary and politician would be “messed up” politically.

Prophet Ituen’s Prediction: Triumph or Silence?

Now, watch closely: if this “divine revelation” unfolds in the coming months, Ituen would thump his chest, saying ‘I said it,’ but if it is to the contrary, he would be mute. That’s his modus operandi.

Distinguished names like Frank Okon, Godswill Akpabio, Sim Fubara, Umanah Okon Umanah, Nsima Ekere, Muhammadu Buhari, etc. feature prominently on his list of “prophecies” that never happened.

His “meteorology” is not always accurate.

He has, however, hit the jackpot with a few accurate predictions. But it is not foresight; it is basic political gambling dressed in prophetic garb.

The most telling evidence of his job as an analyst, not a seer, is the target of his “revelations.”

They are not about cosmic events, great spiritual awakenings, or national redemption.

Politics Obsesses Over Decamps, Prayers, Power

They are about who should or should not decamp, which party will have problems, and who needs prayers and other “spiritual works” to keep his office.

God, in Ekong Ituen’s lips, seems obsessively focused on partisan politics.

And to crown it all, an online link for cash donations, the partnership plea, a WhatsApp number for “deeper consultation”, are always attached to his “prophecies.”

It is a consultancy firm, a “divine” consultancy firm with a direct payment portal.

We must stop the charade. ‘Prophet’ Ekong Ituen is simply a political weatherman.

Why do people listen to these people? People like Ituen, Primate Ayodele and the rest?

Nigerians suffer confusion because leaders who should offer true hope let them down.

In the past, the masses used to run to priests and seers for genuine hope and succour.

Prophets Once Inspired, Fearlessly Challenged Power

They were sources of genuine inspiration and godliness, unafraid to speak truth to power.

These days, they have become fear-mongers and profiteers.

These “seers” will never “see” the slaughter of Christians in Plateau State, or in Southern Kaduna, and warn residents to safety.

They will not “see” the pogrom in Benue State. Their visions are reserved for political maneuverings.

By 2027, this prophet will “see” even more. He will see more political things.

And if you check his website, the account numbers will still be there. The phone lines will still be active.

The talk about seeds and harvest will continue.

Prophet Ekong Ituen is simply a master at his game.
