On Wednesday night Terrorists carried out a deadly attack on the people of Dabagin Yari community in Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing several people and injuring many others.

Sources report terrorists abducted many residents, including women and children, during the assault.

Security Analyst Bakatsine Details Sokoto Attack on X

Security analyst Bakatsine provided details of the attack on Thursday in a post on X.

He stated, “Last night, terrorists invaded the Dabagin Yari community in Wurno LGA of Sokoto State.

“During the attack, terrorists killed several residents. Many others sustained injuries.

Terrorists abducted many people, including women and children.

The assault has left the community in deep fear and mourning.

How can anyone justify calling such terrorists MUSLIM or claiming their crimes are acts of JIHAD, when Islam clearly forbids the murder of innocents?

The kidnapping of women and children, and the spreading of terror?” Bakatsine wrote.

They were heavily armed and come in convoys of an average of fifty motorcycles with each carrying at least two of them.

They also graze their livestock on our farmlands at gunpoint.

Authorities have yet to confirm details surrounding the incident at this time.

Further updates remain pending from official sources as investigations continue.

ISIS-Sahel Camps Thrive Near Sokoto-Niger Border

Intelligence up to early 2026 indicates ISIS-Sahel (Lakurawa) operates temporary camps and logistical hideouts in Sokoto State near the Niger border, using forests and rural areas to evade detection.

Key routes run through Tahoua and Dosso in Niger, enabling cross-border movement, smuggling, and resupply.

U.S. airstrikes in December 2025 failed to halt Sahel terrorist activity. Porous borders and weak surveillance fuel ongoing security risks there.

Despite the strikes, threats persist in the Sahel corridor due to vulnerabilities. This highlights the urgent need for stronger regional defenses
