The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Cross River/Akwa Ibom States Branch, has honored renowned industrialist, Otuekong Sunny Jackson Udoh, with a meritorious award in recognition of his enduring contributions to the growth and stability of the manufacturing sector in Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.

The honor was conferred at the Association’s 18th Annual General Meeting held at the Banquet Hall of Vinpy Hotels & Suites, Uyo. The event brought together manufacturers, captains of industry, policymakers and other key stakeholders to review developments in the sector and deliberate on strategies for sustainable industrial growth in the region.

Otuekong Udoh was also specially acknowledged during the AGM as the foremost Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria in the old Cross River State, a role through which he played a pioneering part in strengthening organized private-sector engagement during a formative period of the Association’s history.

According to MAN leadership, his tenure as Chairman was defined by principled leadership, unity among manufacturers and sustained engagement with government and regulatory institutions. These efforts, they noted, helped reinforce the manufacturing base and improve the operating environment for industries across the region.

Presenting the meritorious award, the Association described Udoh as a trailblazer whose influence extended beyond individual enterprise. They emphasized that his commitment to industrial development, job creation and local content promotion has left a lasting impact on manufacturing activities in Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.

The Association further noted that his leadership helped nurture a culture of cooperation, mutual respect and shared purpose among manufacturers, laying a solid foundation for effective advocacy and private-sector participation in economic policy discussions.

In his acceptance remarks, Otuekong Sunny Jackson Udoh expressed gratitude to the Association for the honor, describing it as a recognition of collective effort rather than individual accomplishment.

He said the award serves as a reminder of the shared responsibility of industry leaders to continue supporting initiatives that promote manufacturing growth, strengthen local industries and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s broader development agenda.
