President Bola Tinubu has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle within the Federal Executive Council (FEC), removing Wale Edun and Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa.
Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, disclosed this in a memo he issued on Tuesday.
The President has also named their replacements.
Oyedele Replaces Edun as Finance Minister
Wale Edun previously served as the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy.

The President directed Edun to hand over to Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, who now takes over as Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy.
Oyedele previously served as a Minister of State in the same ministry.
President Nominates New Housing Minister
Additionally, WahalaUpdate gathered that the President named Dr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma as the ministerial nominee and minister-designate for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
The memo directed Dangiwa to hand over to the Minister of State in the ministry while Darma awaits confirmation. All handover processes must conclude by Thursday, 23rd April 2026.
The SGF quoted the memo as saying these changes aim to strengthen cohesion and synergy in governance.
President exercised his full powers under Sections 147 and 148 of the 1999 Constitution.
He thanked the outgoing ministers for their service and assured all cabinet members that “the process of reinvigoration shall be continuous.”
