Senior officials of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) have expressed strong satisfaction with the pace and quality of work at the ongoing construction of the Commission’s state headquarters in Uyo.
The assurance was given on Wednesday during a joint inspection visit by the Akwa Ibom State Representative on the NDDC Board, Apostle Abasiandikan Nkono, and the State Director, Engr. Evong Evong.
Following a comprehensive tour of the facility.
Apostle Nkono Hails NDDC’s Sustainable Infrastructure Focus
Apostle Nkono hailed the project as evidence of the Commission’s renewed focus on delivering tangible and sustainable infrastructure in the State.

“What we are seeing here today is a clear departure from the past. Gone are the days when people will be chorusing abandoned projects.
This (the project) was one of them, it started in 2012; now look at what has been done just under few months. This is a tangible infrastructure,” Nkono told journalists.
He hailed the current leadership leadership of the Commission under the Managing Director, Chief Sam Ogbuku, and Chairman, Dr. Chiedu Ebie.
Commissioner Confirms Construction Meets Specs, Promises Enhanced Efficiency
The Commissioner confirmed that construction is adhering strictly to specifications and emphasized that the new complex would enhance operational efficiency.

Providing further technical oversight, the State Director, Engr. Evong Evong, assured of the project’s structural resilience and the use of quality materials.
“We are closely monitoring this project to ensure it meets every standard.”
Contractor Fully Mobilized with Manpower, Equipment on Site
The contractor is fully on site with the required manpower and equipment.
We are on course to deliver this landmark project within the scheduled period,” he said.
And other components all designed to improve service delivery for stakeholders across the Niger Delta.
Akwa Ibom State NDDC Office projects department officials witnessed the inspection.
Aides of the Commissioner, site engineers and labourers, as well as some staff of the Commission.
